Way to go Cushman Students! You raised $538.36 for our Pennies for Patients Program!  A huge thank you to Nurse Jennie for organizing this program for our school!
Kindness Challenge/Role Model Assembly
On Wednesday, March 15th, the Cushman School held an assembly to culminate their month long celebration of kindness. Students had an opportunity to share the many ways they have been kind at home and at school.  Each classroom got to share their kindness display or bulletin board that helped to spread the message of kindness around the school.  Students were also honored in each classroom for being role models of kindness and "bucket filling".

Science in Action at the Cushman School, featuring Mr. Brodsky, Ian's Dad!
Mr. Brodsky, a teacher at Dartmouth High and Ian's dad, visited Mrs. Sylvia's Kindergarten class to teach them all about helium and how it makes a balloon rise.  He also explained how hot air (from the little blowers he brought with him) could fill a balloon and make the balloons lift up and float away! He demonstrated with a few different sizes and explained that his high school students had to design their balloons in such a way that once they were filled with the hot air, they would successfully rise and float. Thanks Mr. Brodsky!

Eversource's Watts-Ville Program at Cushman
On Thursday, March 9th, our Kindergartners played an interactive life-size board game that taught them all about energy efficiency and the importance of saving energy.
Cushman's Snowmen Challenge
The Cushman students met Mrs. McHenry's challenge of creating 9 snowmen around the school!  The snowmen were created from the snowflakes students received for the positive behaviors and kind deeds that they have shown throughout the month. Yay Cushman!
Cushman PTO Dr. Seuss Literacy Night
On Tuesday, March 7th our dedicated PTO sponsored a Dr. Seuss Literacy Night for all to enjoy.  Students participated in activities and crafts that centered on Dr. Seuss' classics, like The Cat in the Hat and The Lorax.  A Scholastic book fair was also part of the evening. A huge thank you to all the parents, teachers, and staff that made this night possible!
